Our Story
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Four years ago, two co-workers - an SLP and a Teacher of the Deaf/BCBA - got together and discussed ways to improve education for students with disabilities. Fueled by the desire to improve special education and make an impact, Cori and Liz reflected on years of comprehensive work experience in their respective fields and began to dream big. Several brunch meetings later, The ABLEities Foundation was born.
Incorporated in November 2017 and granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in June 2018, The ABLEities Foundation began to take shape. Every day, we work towards the goal of making education accessible and enjoyable for students of all ABLEities. ABLE is not just an acronym. We strongly believe that the acquisition of behavior and language in education helps lead to social and academic success, and we work to implement these services in areas with less resources, like the fields of hearing loss and autism.
